After a three year long feud over gas price structure changes made by npower in 2007, the energy firm has now agreed to refund 1.8m customers who were left out of pocket due to the pricing structure change. The payout which is reported to be around £70m is one of the biggest payouts of it's kind made by an energy company.
Saving energy is becoming easier than it has ever been, according to Anna Marie DeSousa, the editor at Build It magazine. Installing technologies such as air or ground source heat pumps have become much more affordable due to the new government incentives.
Anna Marie said that being environmentally aware and leading a sustainable lifestyle has become an increasingly important part of modern life. She also stated that people can no longer just ignore this any longer. People who are building a new home need to be aware that building regulations change next month. Houses now have to be more energy efficient than previous requirements.
